Air, Water and Petroleum Hose Specifications

Specification Detail
Tube Oil and fuel resistant synthetic rubber (NBR)
Reinforcement High-tensile textile braid or spiral, steel wire where pressure requires
Cover Oil, abrasion, weather and ozone resistant synthetic rubber
Bore range 6 mm to 100 mm
Working pressure 10 to 20 bar typical, higher on request
Burst pressure 3 to 4× working pressure
Temperature range −30 °C to +80 °C
Media Diesel, kerosene, lubricating oil, petroleum fluids, compressed air, water
Construction Discharge, or suction with helix wire for collapse resistance
Supply Coils, cut lengths and assemblies with couplings

Specify suction construction with an embedded helix wire for any line that lifts fluid or strips a tank. A pressure-only hose collapses under vacuum, creases permanently and loses flow.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can one hose carry air, water and diesel?

Yes, a nitrile-tube multipurpose hose handles compressed air, water, diesel and lubricating oil. It is not suitable for acids, alkalis or aromatic solvents, which need a chemical hose.

Why not use EPDM for a fuel line?

EPDM swells badly in petroleum oils and fuels. Nitrile is the correct compound for hydrocarbons; EPDM suits aqueous chemicals, hot water and steam.

Do I need suction construction?

Only if the hose will lift fluid out of a tank or strip a line. Without an embedded helix wire a pressure hose collapses under vacuum and will not recover.

What couplings suit tanker transfer?

Camlock and TW couplings are standard for bulk and tanker work. Dry-disconnect couplings are preferable where spillage on uncoupling matters.
