High Impulse Spiral Hose Manufacturer in India

Mangla Rubber Industries manufactures high impulse spiral hydraulic hose to EN 856 4SP and 4SH and SAE 100 R12, R13 and R15. Four or six parallel steel wire layers separated by rubber interlayers eliminate the wire-on-wire abrasion that destroys braided hose under rapid pressure cycling, typically delivering 500,000 to 1,000,000 impulse cycles against about 200,000 for two-wire braid.

| Inner tube | Oil-resistant synthetic rubber (NBR) |
| Reinforcement | Four or six parallel spiral steel wire layers with rubber interlayers |
| Cover | Abrasion, weather and ozone resistant synthetic rubber |
| Bore range | 3/16″ to 2″ |
| Working pressure | 160 to 420 bar depending on bore and construction |
| Burst pressure | 4× working pressure minimum |
| Temperature range | −40 °C to +121 °C |
| Impulse life | Typically 500,000 to 1,000,000 cycles at 133% of working pressure |
| Protection | Spiral guard, nylon sleeving and burst-protection sleeving available |
Spiral hose has a considerably larger minimum bend radius than braided hose. Forcing it into a braided hose routing crushes the spiral layers and removes the impulse-life advantage. Re-route or add elbow fittings instead.
Why Plants and Distributors Choose Mangla High Impulse Spiral Hose
- Parallel spiral construction for circuits that cycle continuously, where braided hose fails by impulse fatigue.
- Impulse test data at 133% of working pressure available on request.
- Abrasion-resistant covers with spiral guard fitted at manufacture for rock and structure contact points.
- Spiral-specific crimp specification: different ferrule, crimp diameter and skiving from braided hose.
- Manufactured in Ghaziabad, Delhi NCR since 1983.
Applications
- Rock breakers and hydraulic hammers
- Rock drills and drill rigs
- Combine harvesters and forage harvesters
- Mining shovels, draglines and continuous miners
- Tunnel boring machines and metro projects
- High cycle-rate injection moulding and press circuits
Couplings and End Fittings
Supplied with crimped spiral-rated fittings in ORFS, JIC 37°, BSP and metric DIN threads, plus SAE 4-bolt split flange Code 61 (345 bar) and Code 62 (420 bar) for large bores. ORFS is recommended for high-impulse and high-vibration circuits.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is 4SP hose?
4SP is a four-spiral hydraulic hose to EN 856 4SP, equivalent to SAE 100 R12, with four parallel steel wire layers separated by rubber interlayers. Working pressure is 160 to 420 bar by bore, rated −40 °C to +121 °C.
Why use spiral hose instead of two-wire braid?
In braided hose the woven wires slide against each other at every pressure pulse and abrade until a strand breaks. Spiral layers lie parallel with rubber between, so there is no wire-on-wire abrasion and impulse life is several times longer.
What is the difference between 4SP and 4SH?
4SP has four spiral layers and suits pressures to about 280 bar at larger bores. 4SH has six and is used where pressure and bore are both large, reaching 420 bar.
Does spiral hose need different fittings?
Yes. Spiral hose requires a different ferrule, crimp diameter and often a skived cover. Braided-hose crimp dies produce an assembly with no valid pressure rating.
